Our cosmeceutical products are often recommended by a trained therapist. Cosmeceuticals often combine several powerful ingredients together.
Our products have been tested to have a shelf life of a minimum of 30 months. However our therapeutic sunscreens, have a shelf life of between 2 to 3 years. Once a product is opened, we recommend that it should be used within 6 months.
Some products can deliver immediate skin improvements. Some clients have reported seeing results the very first time they use the products. Many say their skin looks more hydrated, smoother and appears more revitalized and healthy. However, if you are looking to target longer-term skin concerns such as hyperpigmentation, photo ageing or acne you will need a minimum of 90 days to see real visible results. It is important that you follow the recommended home care and plan recommended by your professional skin technician in order to optimise your results and ensure you start off with the correct product strength.
Our 'cleanse’, ‘moisturise’ and ‘protect’ products can be used daily without needing to precondition your skin. However, we suggest our ‘Treat’ category products be introduced slowly to the skin, starting with every alternate day or night for one (1) month gradually building to daily use as tolerated. Always apply SPF 30 or higher during the day when using Ultraceuticals treatment products. Always follow the directions of your skin technician and consultant and always read the label and warnings on pack.
Many of the Ultraceuticals treatment ranges are designed in a stepped system with a progressively higher level of the more concentrated ingredients in each level, so that your skin becomes accustomed to the product before you introduce a higher strength product. This helps avoid adverse skin responses to the potent ingredients. Our Ultra A Skin Perfecting Serum (and Concentrate) and our Even Skintone Serum (and Concentrate) should only be used once your skin has become accustomed to the Mild strength serums in the range. Please consult your local Ultraceuticals Expert salon, clinic or David Jones counter representative to discuss your specific skin concerns before using these products.
The majority of the ingredients used in our products are either synthetically derived or derived from plants. We use cholesterol derived from sheep’s wool in some products, and we therefore cannot claim to be a vegan brand.
Ultraceuticals uses alcohol in some products where it is a critical element of the formulation to maximise the effectiveness of ingredients such as Vitamin C. In these cases, we are careful to limit the alcohol loading to a minimum requirement to minimise any possible adverse skin responses and drying effects, but as always discontinue use of signs of irritation appear.
Some Ultraceuticals Mineral Defence sunscreen products do contain ingredients at the nano-scale, this is necessary to achieve a high SPF factor whilst maintaining a great overall skin feel. Rest assured that these goods have been tested to the highest Australian standards and comply with the Australian regulatory authorities TGA and NICNAS.
We do not use any synthetic fragrance in our products - only essential oils or extracts. All our products are free of propylene glycol, parabens, synthetic dyes and fragrances.
